Warhammer Dwarf Slayer tactics:
In a nutshell here's the low-down on when your Slayers should use the great weapon or 2 weapons.- Use 2 axes for higher toughness opponents T5 or more
- Use Geat Weapons for enemy with a toughness of 4 or less
Notes:
With the Slayer special ability of never having to roll more than 4 to wound, there is no point in wasting the great weapon +2 strength against creatures with a higher toughness.
If fighting highly armoured opponents (eg 2+ armour save knights) you might be better off using Great Weapons to cut through their armour (i will analyse this in detail at a later date)
