I'm not sure whether I should tell you about this game. It took up 2 years of my life, 2 very enjoyable years but nonetheless, 2 years - mainly in work time though :)
There is a quite an obscure game based in a fantasy world, the game is text based and easy to play at school, college or work without anyone knowing what you're up to. The game is extremely addictive because it is updated once per hour.
You get to build a kingdom, armies and population and then go to war. You are allied to other kingdoms on the same island and you can war with other islands for dominance.
The game is all relative so even the smallest part time player can have an impact by fighting other similar kingdoms.
it's a group based game with a lot of forum chatter and tactics and inter-island psychology. There is a lot to this game, like so many of those games that seem simple on the surface this ends up becoming very deep.
The whole system has a myriad of fan based support sites / forums.
