How to Beat a High Elf Army - Are Tomb Kings the answer ? (the opinion of some very experienced Games Workshop staff)

Today, I took my regular visit to good old GW to talk to some of my buddies there and pick up the Skaevn Armies book. They have been experimenting with High Elf Armies and working out ways to defeat them.

We had quite a long discussion and they are all of the opinions that Tomb Kings are a good adversary for the new "Always Strike First" High Elf Army.

Why you ask ?

It's the chariots and impact hits. Impact hits preceed all hand-to-hand and any other close combat hits. It circumvents the need to stirke 1st.

My GW friend told me that, to date, it's the only army he has seen do consistently well against the High Elves.

It's still early days but you get the message. If you are thinking of acquiring a new army or you're looking for your first army for tournament competitions then Tomb Kings might be worth a go. Especially if you don't fancy High Elves or don't want to spend the battle trying to pick them off from range with masses of missile or gunpowder troops like Wood Elves or Empire.

From what I have been told High Elves have rocketed in popularity (and you can see why) so expect to see them feature prominently in future tournaments.
