Combining Warhammer Fantasy Magic Items with a unit's special characteristics to make a super strong unit.

Do not underestimate the power of Fantasy magic item / unit combinations. They can be combined to impressive effect to make a super league unit.

Pay close attention to any banner, talisman or enchanted item that affects your whole unit's fighting characteristics.

Every hand-to-hand army of 3000 pts or more should try to create a super unit capable of surviving a whole battle, if used correctly, and beating any enemy unit..

Take the High Elf army, for instance. The general's unit could be a unit of Phoenix Guard giving the unit (and characters, who cannot be individually targetted by normal missile weapons) a ward save of 4+ (for free !)

The unit can be given the Banner of the World Dragon battle standard to negate all spell and bound item effects. A character can carry magical incence for a -1 to hit modifier for missile fire. The unit can have it's own Lion standard to become immune to Terror and Fear. Now make the general Korhil the White Lion Hero and you have a unit that is immune to terror and fear, causes fear itselfm is stubborn and can reroll break tests on a 9 and will take an age to whittle down with bow fire. Maybe inlude a Keeper of the Flame with a nice cheap but very handy Foe blade for any wandering beasties with more than 1 wound.

How do you like the sound of that !
