How to deploy a Warhammer Army on the Fantasy Battlefield (Game set up Tactics - Part I)

Army deployment needs to be given as much consideration as army selection but usually isn't.

I am going to write a few articles on how best to place scenery and deploy your army in light of the battlefield conditions. The key elements I am going to cover will be:-

1) terrain placement
2) deploying your hard core, general and battle standard
3) deploying support troops
4) adapting your plans and being flexible and responsive in light of your enemies army deployment

I am hoping to dig down deep into the deployment tactics and reveal a few things that are not usually considered. Especially important will be the feature on adapting your plans in light of your enemy's deployment choices.
