Design a new Special Character for Warhammer Fantasy
If you think you can come up with a balanced, exciting new WFB Special Character then read on.
Number 16 of the Master Tactician competitions is all about constructing a completely new, original and exciting character for Fantasy Battle games. The special character must be a balanced addition to an existing army and can include it's own special rules, magic items / spells (your own design or rulebook items), mounts and other equipment options.
The more background fluff and pics (eg. your own artwork or mini photos) the better.
The Battle Reporter forum members will vote for the winner.
The prize is just the respect of our humble Warhammer community :-) and some forum reputation. Please post your entries below:-

FREE Warhammer Maps
If you're searching for a map resource for your Warhammer Campaigns or Fantasy Roleplay Games then look no further !
Credit to Tango01 from theminiaturespage.com who spotted and shared this awesome resource for maps of the Warhammer World. The maps were created by a number of different people and they cover all regions including maps of the whole world, the Olde World and New Worlds. There are loads of maps of the individual City States of the Empire (such as Altdorf and Middenheim) and maps of regions like Albion, Bretonnia, The Darklands and Khemri. There are, in fact, about 180 maps !!!Some of the maps are "overviews" and others are incredibly detailed including all of the villages and hamlets in the Empire ! You could use them to create a great campaign, maybe to fend off a marauding Orc Warband rampaging across the Empire taking the towns and villages out one-by-one.
The World is your oyster with this amount of free content to inspire you. Great work and all credit to the designers and particularly to Gitzman who put it all together.

Check out the "zoomable" mega-map on index page (it's 20,000+ pixels wide - about 20 screens !)

FREE Cut-Out Scenery for Warhammer
Towers, ruins, bridges, village buildings, castle walls, a gatehouse, you name it (ok maybe not everything !) there are cardboard cut out alternatives for a lot of tabletop war gaming terrain and scenery and here's some FREE stuff which you could use for Fantasy Battle games.
It's free and easy to download (none of the 4shared / scibd linking to your Facebook account nonsense) but obviously not free when it comes to the printer ink and the glue for sticking it onto (I presume) cut up Kellogg's Cornflakes packets.Anyway, anything with FREE in the title is a good start as far as I'm concerned.
Below are some of the pages from the Tower I downloaded (they come as pdfs in zip files or jpgs)... I guess you can re-size them if you want to but I think these are about the right 28mm scale (ie Warhammer Fantasy Battle) that most of us are looking for anyway.
Thanks to Vincenzo on the Battle Reporter Facebook page for finding them.

McDeath and Lichemaster - thanks for the memories.
Why is nostalgia always so rose tinted ? I saw these old Warhammer 2nd edition campaign packs (someone just bought them from an advert on this blog) and I couldn't help but smile and cast my mind back into the 1980's - I spent an hour there before I realized that I had other things I needed to do.
For anyone else who'd like to share in the reminiscing... (check out the castle floor plans ! I used them again and again in Fantasy Roleplay games - oh the memories). It also reminds me of the time when GW took themselves somewhat less seriously - they must have had a damn fine laugh in the studio coming up with these supplements :-
Tradegy of McDeath and Terror of the Lichemaster
By the way, some of the miniatures that Citadel used to produce for these supplements are now worth a pretty penny on eBay so if you have any hibernating in a plastic ice cream tub in the garage or loft then now might be the time to cash them in. I sold an old mini a couple of years ago for £25 (about $40 USD) ! Best of all, they're dead cheap and easy to post.
