Slave Giants share more or less the same profile as standard giants used by the likes of the Orc and Goblin army (see my Goblin & Orc Army thread for key profile details).
There is one key difference between Slave Giants and your standard tree trunk wielding Giant and it's quite a large difference ;-) ...
Slave Giants are NOT stubborn. They do have a leadership of 10, which obviously helps a lot but there still remains a chance that your Giant will run from the field (and be cut down in pursuit).
Remember, the Goblin & Orc Giant has a leadership of 10 and is stubborn ! (for 205 pts) That's a 'heluva' combination, it means he will almost certainly fight to the death (92% chance he will fight on after losing a combat)
The points cost of the slave giant has actually been adjusted from the standard giant profile to reflect the fact that he is not stubborn (175 pts). I don't think the points cost has come down quite enough (I'd value them at 165 pts)
Slave Giants do though remain a great option for smaller 2000 pt games because they free up scarce pts (less than 2 'tooled up' Maneaters at 180 pts).
You must use them correctly though. Accompany your giant with supporting units, even gnoblars can do the job (anything to remove the enemy's rank and file bonus)
Don't let your Slave Giant enter combat alone, with a bit of help he can be a battle winner, without help it's..."a risk too far !"
