Teclis Powers - a drop in points but a greater drop in powers ? (Warhammer High Elves Rules and Tactics)

I was never a huge fan of deploying Teclis to the battlefield. Mainly because I distrust magic, given it's unreliability.

I am going to post an article on the old Teclis vs the New Teclis (like the one I did for Tyrion)

One thing immediatle sticks out about the new Teclis though. The War Crown of Saphery have completely changed. The War Crown used to permit Teclis to cast with no range limitations, so for example, a 24" spell could be cast 30, 40 or 100 inches away (providing he had line of sight where necessary). This is HUGE !

The new 2007 rules have removed this from the War Crown special abilities. It's power now allows Teclis to ignore the miscast spell table for his first miscast of each turn. This is not HUGE... Or even particularly Big :(

On the bright side the points cost for Teclis has come down from 630 to 475.

There are other changes which I will tell you about soon.

Poor old Teclis !

Note: thanks to Pentagathus for correcting a mistake I made.
